Going Above and Beyond- KLJ’s 2020 Volunteer of the Year

There are so many things we looked forward to when planning our 2020 KLJ Golf Outing, cancelled due to COVID-19. Seeing our supporters, hitting the links, and honoring the spirit of our kind and loving son. Yet one of the things we were most excited about was the surprise we planned- announcing the 2020 KLJ Volunteer of the Year.

Over the last year there has been one volunteer that has gone above and beyond for the Kind Like Joey Foundation. She has been committed to the success of the Foundation and honoring Joey. She actively participated in planning the golf outing and KLJ5K by donating baskets that she made herself or that she requested through the community; she reached out to many businesses for sponsorship and hung flyers anywhere that would let her. She also coordinated a Dine & Donate with Grub Burger and somehow managed to convince them to let her hang out there all day and hand out flyers to anyone that came in to eat. Because of her commitment to the success of the event we raised almost $1,000 for KLJ.

Along with raising funds, she actively supported the mission of helping families in need. She has reached out to other families that have lost a school aged child to coordinate getting them assistance through KLJ. She spreads the mission of KLJ to anyone and everyone that will listen. We received a $50 donation this year with a message that read “met a woman at Wawa on Friday and here we are! She’s doing great word of mouth for the Foundation.”

We are honored to present Tc Hatzis with the KLJ Volunteer of the Year Award for 2020. Thank you Tc Hatzis, we can't wait to give you your award!
