The Gift of Giving

I remember Christmas when I was five years old. I was so excited and it wasn’t about what I was hoping would be under my tree.   I was excited because, for the first time, I bought a gift I’d be giving.  The purchase was at the school market and it a salt and pepper set for my mom. I can still envision them, pale gray with white colonial people dancing on them. I can’t remember what I got that year for Christmas, but I remember my sheer excitement and joy in being able to give a gift.

Joey Edwards knew that feeling well. He loved that feeling of giving so much he incorporated into his every day. Whether it was helping a new student adjust or giving his time to help his sister with homework. He understood that it was truly in giving we receive.

We ask that you remember Joey Edwards this year on Giving Tuesday . Make a gift to the Kind Like Joey Foundation and you’ll be helping spread kindness. Funds raised are used to award college scholarships for students with exemplary kindness and also to help families who suffer the sudden  loss of a school-age child.
